Chad has arrived Roma!

I have been MIA this weekend for good reason: My Dad and Korin, my stepmom, have been here this whole weekend and I’ve done more hours on tour with them in the last three days than time I’ve spent in class since being in Rome!

Our first tour was a Vespa tour!! We went everywhere on the back of these vintage vespas that my dad was so excited to ride. However, being the large man he is, we had to make a switch at the Vespa shop and get him on a bigger bike. He claims it was much better after the switch. Our tour guides on each bike knew a lot and we made a ton of fun stops! I think we saw nearly everything plus one on this tour. Vespa’s are so much fun, but I was so glad I was not driving.

We enjoyed the rooftop restaurant where my dad was staying during the day and it had amazing views. Later, we had a great dinner and walked to the Trevi fountain. My dad made fun of how small all the cars were and rightfully so because as you can see they are about the size of his wingspan. You can see it in the photo below.

On Saturday, we did 8 hours of tours and boy did I have a lot of steps by the end of the day. We toured the Borghese Gallery and the Vatican. Both were absolutely gorgeous. It was amazing to see the paintings and sculptures because as some of you may know I love art. Seeing art pieces relating to Christian faith had to be my favorite by far. To see the gifts God gives people and how they can use it to tell other about him is so cool.

Then, we had dinner with Evan and Oliver, sadly Haley was in Venice. The food was so good. We were right in Trastevere, which is where I live here. At night, Trastevere comes alive and is so fun. The streets become busy and crowded because of how popular it is. My Dad and Korin loved it. We had the waiter bring us what he suggested and time after time he brought the best foods. We had a truffle pizza, cheese and jams, artichoke, meat plate and more. He brought us all four raviolis once and we were so full we couldnt even finish it. He brought another pasta after that and had to forfeit. We ended with dessert and it was amazing as well. Felt very blessed to be able to have that good of a dinner and time. We ended up going out afterwards and having fun. Taught my dad and Korin how to play beer pong. My dad was not good. It was also my first time being out in Rome. I only had select photos, but great memories.

Today, we toured the Colosseum and it was exactly what you’d expect - huge and impressive.

Tonight, we ate at another rooftop place with a beautiful view of Capital Hill. Dads birthday is tomorrow so he wanted to wear his nice outfit. What a stud. Very thankful for this guy.

It has been a great weekend! Praise God for the opportunity and time!

Ciao ♡,
